The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency recently made a comment that Singapore is ready to adopt nuclear power, and could do so, possibly in collaboration with its Asean neighbours.

Rafael Grossi, director general of the IAEA, believes the republic is “prepared” to host nuclear power, citing its institutional maturity and decarbonisation goals.

But what would nuclear readiness actually look like – for Singapore and for the wider region?
