Elidalis Burgos, an American nurse volunteering in Khan Younis, said she has witnessed “signs of advanced stage of malnutrition and starvation even among the doctors and nurses”, due to the food shortages caused by Israel’s blockade on Gaza.
“I’ve seen doctors collapse. I’ve seen them struggle to finish surgeries sometimes, because they don’t have the energy,” she added.
Burgos also urged people in the West to demand that their governments stop providing “money and weapons to Israel” in order to put a stop to what is happening in Gaza.
