Loud explosions have been heard in Qatar’s capital, Doha.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority, citing a senior Israeli official, has reported that the explosions were the result of an attack against senior Hamas officials.
A senior Hamas source has told Al Jazeera that leaders of the group have been targeted in Doha while discussing US President Donald Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Thani says the Israeli strikes on Doha can only be interpreted as “state terrorism”.
He says Qatar reserves its right to respond to Israel and will not tolerate any violations of its sovereignty. He added that Qatar will take a comprehensive approach to respond to the Israeli assault and deter future attacks.
