Malaysia is planning to ban children under 16 years old from signing up for social media accounts.
The move mirrors Australia’s restrictions and signals a growing global push to limit young people’s online exposure.
However, Malaysia intends to enforce these age restrictions using ‘electronic Know Your Customer’ identity checks.
