US President Donald Trump has invited a select group of billionaires, accused war criminals and senior officials closely aligned with Israel to join his proposed ‘Board of Peace’ – a US-led body set to run post-war Gaza and potentially mediate other global conflicts as well.
Invitations have gone out to US allies and major regional powers, but with participation tied to financial contributions of more than $1bn.
The list of invitees – which notably excludes Palestinians and includes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – has raised questions about power, influence and representation.
