A fight for clean and fair election remains the single most important fight that any Malaysians should embrace, says Anwar Ibrahim.

The recently concluded 13th General Election was marred with unprecedented electoral fraud.

Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Election Commission have chosen to ignore the wishes of the rakyat at their own peril despite their earlier pronouncements towards free and fair elections. This was despite massive popular support for the cause of clean and fair election.

Pakatan Rakyat won the popular vote by a large margin (50.3 per cent, compared to BN’s 46.8 per cent) confirming the mandate given to us. We won the election. This outcome also highlights that electoral fraud is the only way that BN and Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak can claim victory in the 13th general election.

Therefore, the Election Commission shall be held responsible for being complicit in the worst electoral fraud in our nation’s history. A fight for clean and fair election remains the single most important fight that any Malaysians should embrace. I will devote my time and utmost energy towards working with Bersih and the people of Malaysia to ensure that a newly constituted and independent Election Commission shall be in place as soon as possible to rectify the electoral fraud that has taken place.

Our conscience does not allow us to accept election results conjured through fraud and cheating. My heart is with every Malaysian who does not accept these results. I will work towards a national consensus to question the legitimacy of the BN’s government achieved through such electoral fraud.

The movement for change is unstoppable. The simple demand of the rakyat for a clean and fair election to ensure our elected government is accountable, transparent and incorruptible will continue to echo loudly in spite of the rigged 13th general election.

I shall address the rakyat for the first time post the general election on Wednesday, 8 May 2013 at Kelana Jaya Stadium in Petaling Jaya, Selangor at 8.30pm. Information about the event is here.

I call upon as many Malaysians to join hands and express our rejection and disgust at the unprecedented electoral frauds committed by Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak and the Election Commission.

I believe Dr. M is the real man running the country – like a godfather. After all- the present PM is was implicated in a murder crime and which was never investigated under S 302.That is why the PM simply tows the line. When Anwar was inplicated, Dr. M was relentless in bring him down. But with Najib it was different response. There is no way Malaysia is going to progress with Dr. M around. Everyone knows that the elctions results were rigged. It is indeed a shameful way to assume control.

This is not the only time that Umno has cheated the GE, it started when the … shenanigan Mahathir knew how little true support he had to remain as P.M.of Malaysia. Hence (his administration) imported foreigners, muslims in particular, to vote for him to remain in Putrajaya for 22 years. It is only in recent times the project M was revealed, more would be revealed soon and it is for these reasons he ‘retired’ before his … deceits are revealed. Most important of all he pretended to have resigned because he knew, as a politician he could be indicted for all the (wrongdoings) but if he resigned he would not be indicted. Besides who would dare pressure or even dare to ask him to retire ? He was the … ‘lord’ of all he surveyed ! His pro activities since his ‘retirement’ are testimonies to all these and you will be the better judge of all these. And above all he pretended to have retired because he thought he had found a puppet in AB to be his successor and thus able to continue committing the… Read more »

Asking for clean and fair election is not much to ask for but apparently it is very hard for UMNO and the EC to fulfill because they have been running a dirty and unfair election to remain in power.

Due to citizen awareness, some of the dirt were uncovered but because the police and the EC were (subservient to) UMNO/BN, we were not able to discover more of it.

Question that is linfering in my mind, why is that some areas where UMNO won, the turnout was in the 90s percentile. That is not the national trend and is not the norm. It also raises the suspicion that ballot boxes may have been stuffed or multiple voting by a single individual.
