BDS Malaysia refers to recent statements by some people criticising the action of the Malaysian government in bringing some injured Palestinians to Malaysia for medical treatment.
We denounce and condemn the statements unreservedly as a shameless display of unmitigated bigotry under the guise of “charity begins at home” and the protection of public interest.
These people did not offer any evidence that public interest is threatened or diminished by extending humanitarian and medical aid to a group of fewer than 150 Palestinians, many of whom are children.
Moreover, the Palestinians are not refugees. They are evacuated here on medical and humanitarian grounds. They are not fleeing their land to Malaysia.
The Palestinians are a very proud people who wish to live in peace nowhere else but in the land they love and rightfully own, Palestine. There is a Palestinian diaspora worldwide, but they will return to a free Palestine as soon as it is established.

The Palestinian right of return is enshrined in international law, and the Palestinians have been fighting tirelessly for that to be observed and abided with over the past 76 years.
To those who are unaware, mass emigration by Palestinians to other countries is highly discouraged, if not prohibited, by the Palestinians themselves. Mass emigration means playing into the hands of the Zionists who wish to ethnically displace them.
We commend the Malaysian government for evacuating Palestinians to Malaysia on medical grounds and hope to see more such humanitarian measures.
The Malaysian public should also note that what the Malaysian government is doing is also being done on humanitarian grounds by the US, Norway, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan and Turkey.
There is no reason, therefore, for the Malaysian government to be apologetic about it to anyone.
Anyone with a modicum of understanding of what is going on in Palestine and who has a desire to see a peaceful resolution would know that it is not a question of taking sides.
It is a question of respecting and abiding by international law.
On one side, Israel clearly and repeatedly disregards international law in conducting genocidal mass slaughter and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, with voluminous evidence to show for it. Malaysia is right in joining with the great majority of UN member states in calling for Israeli aggression to stop.
Any expression of concern over radical and militant elements being allowed in is groundless and nothing but a gratuitous and malicious framing of Arabs and Muslims, oft-used in the propaganda by the Zionist-controlled Western media. To these people, anything to do with Arabs or Muslims is “radical” or “militant” or even “terrorism”. To conclude that Arab or Muslim women and children needing medical help and their accompanying relatives are radical and militant elements simply exposes their highly propagandised minds.
It is a sad reflection of a dystopian world where the mass killing of children is being normalised by powerful and evil forces that a disgusting ilk of people are now emboldened to come out of the woodwork to campaign for and justify, without the slightest sense of shame or embarrassment, the denial of medical treatment to children and adults who are victims of an ongoing genocide – a genocide which these heartless monsters wilfully ignore. – BDS Malaysia
