This day commemorates the pivotal moment when the Federation of Malaysia was formed in 1963, marking the birth of our vibrant and diverse nation.

We reflect on our shared history, values and the remarkable journey we have undertaken together.

We take pride in the remarkable progress our country has made. Malaysia’s rapid development is a testament to our collective efforts and enduring optimism.

Let us celebrate our achievements while remaining compassionate and understanding towards one another.

As we celebrate, we must keep the tragedies we have come to witness happening in our country in mind. Recent distressing events remind us to stay vigilant and committed to upholding justice when we are faced with such cruelties, and to be brave when calling out those responsible and holding them accountable. It is in these moments that the strength of our unity shines the brightest.

Let us stand together, resolute in our shared values and common purpose, as we work to overcome corruption and injustice to build a future which is safe for all, especially for our most vulnerable.

On this Malaysia Day, let us renew our dedication to a Malaysia that is just, equitable and united. We congratulate everyone for contributing to our nation’s growth and applaud you for your unwavering spirit despite our shared differences.

Together, we must continue to build a brighter future for all.
