Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan Malaysia (the National Patriots Association or Patriot) held its seventh annual general meeting on 18 November at the Subang National Golf Club.
The meeting marked a major milestone in leadership transition with its new team of members elected into office to replace retiring office bearers.
The group’s founding president, retired Brigadier General Arshad Raji, who successfully led the association for the past six years, handed over the baton to Lt Col Zarazilah Mohamed Ali, the incoming president.
The retired brigadier general had served three terms as president, the maximum term allowed by the association’s constitution.
Along with the new president, the following members were also elected into office.

The incoming president, in his maiden remarks, asserted that the founding priciples of Patriot – truth, courage, country – will be the driving force of Patriot as it continues to promote, uphold and strengthen the spirit of patriotism towards defending country, monarchy and the people.
“Without fear or favour, the very precedents set by our founding president, Brigadier General Dato’ Arshad, I shall endeavour together with the newly elected team and ensure that politicians and policymakers remain receptive to Patriot’s people-centric nation-building thrust for the onward progress, peace and harmony of our nation,” he declared.
The president, in promising to sustain the role of Patriot, said Patriot will champion purpose-built ideas, including the declaration of a national patriotism day and the institutionalising of patriotism for the country.
“We will be calling for a press conference on this soon,” he assured.
Over 70 members attended the seventh annual general meeting, which is twice the quorum required by the constitution. – Patriot
