Wong Yan Ke – pioneering student leader and human rights activist

Wong Yan Ke is the Bersih deputy chairperson, Suaram case management and campaign coordinator and Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall secretary of the youth wing.

He is also the former president of Umany and the Chinese Language Society of the University of Malaya.

As a student leader on campus, he was a founder of Suara Siswa, a part of the University of Malaya’s students’ union and the academic freedom movement, Gerak and part of the committee of the Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat (People’s Solidarity Secretariat).
