Pengerusi: Maria Chin Abdullah; Timbalan Pengerusi: Sarajun Hoda Abdul Hassan; Bendahari: Masjaliza Hamzah; wakil kebangsaan: Prof Madya Dr Abdul Halim bin Yusof, Farhana binti Abdul Halim, Fadiah Nadwa Fikri dan New Sin Yew; naib pengerusi: Jannie Lasimbang (Sabah), Ahmad b Awang Ali (Sarawak), Abd Halim b Wan Ismail (Semenanjung Timur), Thomas Fann (Semenanjung Selatan), Simon Lee Ying Wai (Semenanjung Tengah) dan Dato’ Dr Toh Kin Woon (Semenanjung Utara).

Bersih 2.0 denounces the stepping on pictures of political leaders during Bersih 4

Bersih 2.0 states categorically it does not support the actions of some of the protesters attending the Bersih 4 rally, who stepped on pictures of Prime Minister Najib Razak and Abdul Hadi Awang.

Bersih 2.0 reiterates our 34-hour rally was to call for institutional reforms to a corrupted system and the resignation of Najib Razak. The stepping on pictures was carried out by a small group and was not part of the official programme of the Bersih 2.0 organising committee.

It is regrettable that so much attention has been given to this unfortunate incident, instead of focusing on the hundreds of thousands of Malaysians who conducted themselves with exemplary maturity and civility.

Bersih 2.0 again thanks all the participants for making the Bersih 4 rally a resounding success and for putting on a tremendous show of patriotism to be remembered for years to come.

Steering Committee of Bersih 2.0, which consists of:

Chairperson: Maria Chin Abdullah; Deputy Chairperson: Sarajun Hoda Abdul Hassan; Treasurer: Masjaliza Hamzah; national representatives: Assoc Prof Dr Abdul Halim bin Yusof, Farhana binti Abdul Halim, and Fadiah Nadwa Fikri; vice-chairpersons: Jannie Lasimbang (Sabah), Ahmad b Awang Ali (Sarawak), Abd Halim b Wan Ismail (East Peninsula), Thomas Fann (South Peninsula), Simon Lee Ying Wai (Central Peninsula) and Dato’ Dr Toh Kin Woon (North Peninsula).
