The Coalition of Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) calls upon Malaysians to reject the abuse of Section124B by joining Bersih 4.
We must stand up for our embattled parliamentary democracy from further assaults from the Executive.
Bersih 4’s demands are now:
- Clean elections
- Clean governments
- Right to dissent
- Strengthening parliamentary democracy
- Saving our economy
The first three demands – “clean elections”, “clean governments” and “right to dissent” – are necessary for the fourth and new demand – “strengthening parliamentary democracy” – which is in turn necessary for the fifth demand – “saving our economy”.
Bersih 2.0 calls upon opinion leaders and supporters of Bersih 4 to help spread the understanding that we cannot save our economy without strengthening our democracy.
