At 12.49am earlier today, a WhatsApp message was sent to Maria Chin’s handphone with edited images of decapitated heads of six persons by Isis, reports Bersih 2.0. They were Maria and her three sons, Ambiga, and Mandeep Singh.
It is horrific for anyone to be so low as to attack human rights activists so personally. We don’t believe it is a threat from IsisS, but rather it seems to be done by people who do not want us to continue with our Bersih 5 rally and convoy. This is based on a similar death threat note that was sent earlier last month.
We believe that we are creating waves of hope and resistance through our convoys which have happening for the past six weeks. We have been successful and well received in the towns we have visited. That is why some people are scared of the people’s power. Such death threats are meant to crush our spirit and instil fear in the public.
As this is the second threat in a month, the police need to take this more seriously and arrest the culprit(s). If they can trace the mobile numbers and act swiftly in other cases, why not ours?
Bersih 2.0 is not intimidated and we will remain resolute in calling for our five demands to fight for clean and fair elections and democratic governance. Our freedom of assembly and expression is enshrined in the Federal Constitution Article 10, and that is what we will continue to fight for.

The CFM statement certainly covered this element, and yet all the media has chosen to pick up from the wide-ranging statement was the MMO stating CFM encourages peaceful rallies, and FMT that we abhor 1MDB corruption. Neither were stated as such but alluded to in general terms.
Really, whaaat lah. When the organization representing Christians in Malaysia writes in strong terms about a nation in crisis, including this dreadful element, it is ignored.
When we try to support those such as the BERSIH leaders being persecuted, it is deemed irrelevant by even the alternative media. One wonders really how our courageous civil society survives when it is deprived even of support given to it.
Do not be afraid of these poopsters . Just carry on the good work that Bersih is doing for the rakyat. I fully know that this is the handiwork of the … with the blessings of our … Personally I will (stop) their wicked agenda if I do come across one of their … kind.
