This is an online talkshow forum hosted by Sarawak Bersih. It beings with the conversations on issues leading up to the Sarawak state election.
This episode will be on the holding of elections in the age of the coronavirus pandemic, which is still affecting the nation. How and what considerations will the Sarawak government or rather the chief minister need to take into consideration before he decides to dissolve the state legislative assembly – or are there other options available?
Is it a matter of when the election should be held – or should the right question be, how can the state election be conducted so that the majority of Sarawakians voters feel safe to go to vote? Can we trust voters and other election stakeholders to conduct themselves strictly in compliance with standard operating procedures set by the Election Commission?
Join the panel of health and election experts as we discuss which should take precedence: the health of democracy, elections being a regular and necessary process to choose one’s government – or voters’ health and safety?
