Congratulations to the Coaliton Against Health Care Privatisation for winning the 2007 human rights award presented by rights group Suaram today. The award is testimony to all the hard work put in to raise awareness of the need to protect and improve the public health care system. The Coalition is made up of dozens of civil society groups. Aliran is represented in the Coalition by Aliran executive committee member Dr Subramaniam Pillay, who is chairperson of the Coalition’s Steering Committee, and by Aliran member Dr Jeyakumar Devaraj, who is the Steering Committee secretary.
