GBM has been involved, since its inception more than 10 years ago, with initiatives relating to projects on national unity, religious diversity, interracial and interfaith relations across the many different segments and layers of society.
All this with the aim to foster multiculturalism as a cornerstone in bringing unity in diversity for the common good in Malaysia.
In 2018, GBM set up UID-Sejahtera as part of our incubation initiatives to grow multiple independent civil service organisations and partner networks which respond to the prevailing needs of the nation on many complementary fronts.
The GBM executive committee has come to recognise that UID-Sejahtera has grown to be a totally independent set-up from GBM in its effort to facilitate new grounds of engagement in response to our very diverse Malaysian society.
GBM’s vision of “building a better Malaysia” remains our core purpose and we will continue to strive towards unity in diversity, keeping our focus on national unity, racial and religious diversity.
We are likewise committed to continue building a robust civil society movement in Malaysia through incubating new initiatives. GBM is currently developing initiatives to address the crucial issue facing Malaysia now – economic and social inclusion.
We wish members of UID-Sejahtera all the best in their next phase of endeavours as we put our hands together to the plough for a better Malaysia! – GBM
