Given the sudden spike in coronavirus cases and now two deaths in Malaysia, we hope you are keeping safe. These are difficult times, coming in the wake of the political turmoil we just experienced.
In line with the movement control order, the Aliran executive committee has decided to close the Aliran office in Penang from today, 18 March to 31 March, when we will review the situation.
Though the office will be closed, our work will continue remotely. The website will continue to be updated and the free Aliran newsletters will be emailed to subscribers as usual. (Have you already subscribed?) Though you won’t be able to reach us through the normal office landline, you may contact us at [email protected]
Please be safe, practise social distancing and stay at home as much as possible. If you are involved in essential services, we thank you for doing national service. If you can, do support groups that are reaching out to help vulnerable groups, the sick and people with disabilities during this time of crisis.
Seek medical attention, if you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing (WHO). If you have reason to suspect you may be infected, please seek help.
