Visual Activism workshop: Basic graphic design to publicise your events

This hands-on workshop aims to show civil society activists and volunteers how they can design attractive posters to publicise their events over WhatsApp and social media.

Date: Saturday, 1 February 2020
Time: 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Venue: Rumah Aliran, 103 Medan Penaga, 11600 Jelutong, Penang

Cost: RM20 per participant (RM10 for students and senior citizens) (payable on the day)

Minimum age of participants: 18

The workshop covers the basic foundation for creating attractive visuals or posters to promote your events over social media. You will learn composition, colour theory and the basics of communications to generate interest from your target audience.

Who should attend?

Organisers of community or NGO events, whether civil society activists, NGO members and volunteers or public interest advocates working for the common good.

Participants should bring their own laptops as this is a hand-on session.

The trainer for the workshop has worked as a film animator and graphics designer.
