There are many flats in Penang which are in a very dangerous situation. They are infested with rats. The walkways are dirty. Piped waters leaking. The buildings look old and dirty. Some are occupied by foreigners. Some units are left vacant for years. Bathroom is flowing to the walkway. Express buses and lorries are parked. Children are playing and living in such a condition. The is no residents association to look into their social problems. Ah longs are coming in the middle of the night to collect loan payment. These are the images of many flats in the country. Something should be done. Government should look into it to create and a clean, decent living environment.
