Aliran is taken aback and dismayed by the recent discovery of an “addendum” following a Pardons Board meeting on 29 January.
News of the addendum only surfaced two months after the Pardons Board meeting.
The administration of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is represented on the Pardons Board. The administration is also a party to the judicial review filed by Najib Razak.
So the PM cannot claim ignorance or non-involvement in the process.
The lack of transparency and honesty at all levels of decision-making undercuts the spirit of “Madani”. The government must remember it is ultimately accountable to the people.

We urge that no new precedents be established that are not in keeping with the Federal Constitution and the nation’s commitment to the rule of law.
We call on the government to come clean and clarify what is going on for the benefit of everyone concerned about the worrying state of affairs in Malaysia.

This PM was not chosen by the majority at the last GE 15. He is not answerable and does not really care. He prefers to jetset and gallivant the globe on tax payers account to attend forums , to give public speeches to Malaysian dispora or to pay homage to foreign leaders or chat over cups coffee with with some foreigners.
