Myanmar refugee activist Thuzar Maung and her family were abducted in Malaysia in what is suspected to be a planned operation aimed at silencing her.

Human Rights Watch expressed its concerns and has called on the Malaysian government to prioritise a thorough and transparent investigation.

BFM talks to Debbie Stothard, a Malaysian activist, founder and coordinator of Alternative Asean Network on Burma (Altsean Burma), about why it is vital for these cases of transnational repression to be highlighted and for action to be taken.
