Our greatest pretenses are built up not to hide the evil and the ugly in us but our emptiness, the hardest thing to hide is something that is not there. – Eric Hoffer

After Muhyiddin Yassin took office as the eighth Prime Minister last year, whether by the back door or otherwise, what plan does he, as the leader of the nation, have to solve the coronavirus pandemic?

Government TV stations, Bernama news, many of the print media are at his disposal, so why doesn’t he tell the entire country what is on his mind to save this nation from multiple crises? You know, the pandemic, the collapsing economy, low-income families who need food on the table, unemployed youths looking for a job.

Muhyiddin, why do you want to be where you are today? What are the duties and responsibilities of a prime minister? Why are you occupying an office that requires you to do so much for the good of the country, its people and the economy?

Why do you wake up every day and appear in your office in Putrajaya? You are being paid as prime minister – to do what? Share with us your plan, your strategic moves to take the country forward.

You have been occupying the office for almost a year now. If you don’t have any idea what to do to save this nation, why cling on to power if you are unable to contribute? Where is the dignity and respect that comes with the post?

Do you have what it takes to be prime minister? How did you get to be where you are today? Who are the MPs who picked you as their head?

Character is not made in a crisis. It is only exhibited. – Robert Freeman

This is the perfect time to show your mettle as prime minister. Your capability and ability will speak for you in this time of crises. Rise and be the person of the hour; show us your experience in handling these crises. This is a golden opportunity to be the best prime minister in the history of this nation.

Emergency rule is not the answer, nor a tool to toy with to remain in power.

Errors do not cease to be errors simply because they’re ratified into law. – EA Bucchianeri

If you have what it takes to be prime minister, you will stay on as long as you can perform and rise to the occasion. You may stay on as PM by virtue of your wisdom or talents, if you have them at your disposal.

Laws can only do so much. No laws have been passed to make a nation clever, healthy and rich. No laws can be enacted to prevent the law of gravity from working. Neither can an emergency law be used to save a person from being removed from an office for which he or she is ill-equipped.

Politicians come and go, but this nation of 32 million shall remain.

Jordan, at least until Aug.1st, Muhyiddin can cling on to the PM’s seat.
Whether he deserves to sit on it is a moot point, as he has removed all challenges to his position.
