Bad leaders more often take into account the interest of a few at the expense of everyone else, writes Abdul Rashid Hanafi.

Most of the problems plaguing our nation today can be attributed to none other than a weak leadership.

What does it take to be a good leader? To be a good leader you have to have a clear vision of what you want to get done, where things should move, and how things should change. Leadership is more about performance than about position, more about what you do than what you say.

As a society we need to make a distinction between who is really a leader and who is just in a position of leadership. We have come to realise that we have a PM and many other elected reps in Parliament and the State Assemblies who hold important positions in government. But what have they done to overcome the problems we are facing
now?

It is not enough to just condemn a reprehensible development with rhetoric; something needs to be done to combat it directly. Having the power to do good and not doing anything is the worst of all decisions.

The question most people often ask is: why are some people considered good leaders and others bad leaders? The answer is simple: good leaders produce change that benefits the people and the nation; bad leaders do not.

Bad leaders more often take into account the interest of a few at the expense of everyone else. This is effective for a while, but ultimately the people will wake up to bring their nightmare to a halt.

“Zahid’s 2314: An Opinion from a Malaysian Tourist in China”

Lest this be construed as another UMNOputra bashing piece, let me state some good the current lineage of political leaders have done that is obvious if one travels through the not so wealthy part of China.
