Which other mainstream political leader is articulating the people’s concerns, wonders JD Lovrenciear.
Anwar Ibrahim is making great sense with his openness, and we need to sit up and take stock.
Lately, since the close of the first anniversary of Pakatan Harapan taking power, the real stakeholders, the Rakyat, have been expressing serious concerns over the many broken promises and prevailing political situation.
And Anwar Ibrahim seems to be the only politician who is now articulating the thoughts of the rakyat without fear or favour. For that, we need to not only acknowledge his steadfast hold on principles.
More importantly, we, the Rakyat, need to also hold all those in office accountable.

The sentiment in the marketplace is unnerving. Whether the media have the conviction to state it openly or not, the Rakyat are already displaying growing suspicion over all things Pakatan Harapan.
And the one man who boldly states it in public is Anwar. Where are the voices of all those holding high-level government positions or enjoying the spoils of politics?
From affordable housing for the people to witch-hunting political leaders along ethnic lines, from religious bigotry to principle-centred democratic existence, Anwar Ibrahim seems to be articulating – without mincing his words – the concerns of the people.
It is time for all concerned citizens – irrespective of our political affiliations to think along with Anwar, ie in the best interest of the people’s welfare and the nation’s future.
Creating millionaires is not the panacea.
Protecting developers at the expense of the bottom 40% of households and middle-income folks is an injustice.
Not fulfilling the critical few promises of the Pakatan Harapan 2018 general election manifesto is a betrayal of the people’s mandate.
Equally concerning is the absolute lack of transparency and accountability over the way the wealth of this nation is being shuffled and repackaged speedily under the canopies of government-linked companies, government-linked investment companies and other government-linked entities.
In times like these, we need to pay closer attention to Anwar Ibrahim’s bold clarion calls. Perhaps we even have to rethink the uncertainty shrouding his helming the country’s leadership.

- Raikan kerencaman dan keterangkuman
- Selamatkan demokrasi dan angkatkan keluhuran undang-undang
- Lawan rasuah dan kronisme
Immediately after GE 14. There was a statements on TV that someone said 2 years then later on came 3 years then 5 years and now till the day Malaysia is okay.
