Today Pakatan Harapan has arrived at the final lap, and whether it will form the government with Barisan Nasional or not is still difficult to say.
The hurdle is the DAP and Umno. The DAP has been fighting with Umno for nearly 60 years, with even ‘kitchen sinks’ thrown at each other.
The only thing that is left is cooperation. They did briefly cooperate in Perak for the first time in history, bringing about the change in menteri besar (chief minister). As a result, Saarani Mohamad from Umno became the Menteri Besar.
I would definitely praise Nga Kor Ming, the Perak DAP chairman, for his foresight in agreeing to this unprecedented change.
The DAP is not a communist party. It emulates the Labour Party of the UK, where the welfare of the workers and common people is paramount. The Malaysian free healthcare system is largely based on the British healthcare system, which was introduced by the Labour Party in 1946, when it became the post-war government.

The DAP’s economic signature is John Maynard Keynes. Keynesian economics is the backbone of the economic policy of the Democratic Party in the US. It pulled US out of the Great Depression in the early 1920s and the 30s with the introduction of welfare, which acted as a safety net.
All said, now it is time for Umno and PH to cooperate and form the next government of Malaysia for the sake of the welfare of our nation.
The Malaysian economy will never survive another round of a Perikatan Nasional-led government.
AGENDA RAKYAT - Lima perkara utama
- Tegakkan maruah serta kualiti kehidupan rakyat
- Galakkan pembangunan saksama, lestari serta tangani krisis alam sekitar
- Raikan kerencaman dan keterangkuman
- Selamatkan demokrasi dan angkatkan keluhuran undang-undang
- Lawan rasuah dan kronisme
I do not Believe that the DAP in any way is inspired by the British Labour Party nor Keynesian. I even doubt that it is social democratic. If the Labour Party imbibed Neo-Liberalism, I am pretty sure that the DAP does too not because of the British Labour Party. The DAP of today is just a party looking for power and influence just like the other parties.
