The epidemic has also shown up the inconsiderate and irresponsible attitude of some people, writes JD Lovrenciear

What misfortune besieges humanity.

Of all times, when billions of people the world over were counting on the Lunar New Year holidays to take a good break, reunite with family and friends and savour the celebrations, many have been worried about the outbreak of a new coronavirus.

This unfortunate outbreak has affected a string of nations across the globe. But even as governments grapple with the situation tinged with uncertainty, human greed has reared its ugly head.

Traders had to be warned not to profiteer during this time of human emergency.

Some holiday travellers from affected areas may be short on considerate behaviour, thinking only about their holiday plans without knowing if they could be carriers of the virus – potentially putting others at risk.

Fake news about the virus has also spread.

It shows how inconsiderate and irresponsible some people are in the face of a tragedy that could affect the world if we fail to make a breakthrough with the right vaccines or treatment to curb the virus in time.

This outbreak serves as a good lesson to those in power about the critical importance of communications in handling this epidemic.

The coronavirus has also sent home a chilling message to all of humanity. The world is so fragile. Life is short. All it takes is just one human to be infected and undetected for it to spread. If that happens, it could stretch medical resources, lead to travel restrictions and even disrupt the economy.

Was this an accident or a drill to test the preparedness system in case of actually happening or a bio-weapon attack? Deaths and economic/social disruptions just COLLATERAL DAMAGE(?)

[Bill Gates Predicted Coronavirus-Like Outbreak in 2019 Netflix Documentary]

History shows mankind toyed with the idea of using biological agents for the annihilation of a vast number of people. State or non-state actors could be creating the malicious virus, and there’s always possible that some of these agents can be leaked accidentally or by design…[International Business Times – 30.1.2020]
