It is the government of the day that has full responsibility over the Covid pandemic that is going out of control.
Enough of blaming citizens and the millions of migrants.
Despite public appeals to the leaders, the “backdoor government” has failed to act proactively.
The reactions following every public outcry through various flip-flops have largely contributed to the critical situation we are in today.

Given the rising number of clusters to 683 now, how on earth is the rate of transmission going to drop when the government continues to allow industries, including small and medium-sized enterprises, to operate?
Lest we forget, there were only around 400 active clusters a month ago. And we are not even sure what the outcome will be for the 83,331 active cases.
Many had advocated stringent, proactive measures: the medical and healthcare fraternity; the MPs who had been shut out from Parliament; former politicians and ex-senior ministers; NGOs and ordinary people had all been pleading for a lockdown for over two months.

The government led by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and the economics minister, who seem to have put business before the people’s health, must account to the public for the situation we are in.
