One of our residents posted this very pertinent message on our residents’ association chat group.
Dear Bangsar Park residents.
The weather is getting hotter by the day and the roads are certainly not a place to be walking bare footed from 10am to about 7pm.
I have seen many owners taking their dogs for a walk during these hours when the sun is shining brightly accompanied by the high humidity.
Not in the least empathising with these poor dogs.

If the owners were to walk bare-footed, they will realise that it is impossible to do so and will probably burn their feet badly. Please have the heart to not take your pets out at this time as their tender paws will be affected.
Also please ensure your maids follow these rules as well and not take them out just for their own selfish needs. Watched a few people who were walking their dogs but they were happily well-padded with good walking shoes to beat the scorching heat.
Have some heart for our furry companions.
A pertinent message from this concerned resident who happens to be a dog lover. How many of us think of the poor animals during such inclement weather?
Most I am sure are not concerned about the predicament of these dogs, most probably thinking animals are immune from adverse weather conditions.
I have a part-time domestic worker. I give her an umbrella and a cap as she walks quite a distance all over the Bangsar area.
I have cautioned many pedestrians that they could get a heatstroke as a result of the high humidity and there is a possibility it could be fatal.
Surprisingly, I have not seen any advice on TV or radio for people to use a cap or umbrella when walking in the sweltering heat and when humidity is high.
A good segment of our people only seem to be concerned with highlighting trivial and sensational issues but not important day-to-day issues facing the people.
How often do we hear of our politicians talking about important issues like climate change and food security?
I have not heard any substantive debates in our august houses on these pressing issues.
