The latest troubling threat of an apocalyptic end to Persia’s unique civilisation from a US president who appears increasingly erratic simply suggests that this man is clearly unfit to lead his country.
The vice-president and the US Congress must now invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Donald Trump from office.
Exceptional clarity and courage are needed, as the latest threat to Iran has worldwide repercussions – including the collapse of the world economy caused by unprecedented inflation, disruption of food production and energy supplies, and other shortages.
It is unfortunate that both the international community and the domestic situation in the US have allowed such serious excesses and highly dangerous acts of aggression against humanity to be committed. Prompt action is clearly necessary.

Trump’s ill-fated military phase has not been particularly effective or successful. It was proving dangerous, costly and detrimental to his own political survival.
Hence, we are now in this new phase of trial and error, and a theoretical temporary truce. It is an implicit apology for the apocalypse that could not be delivered.
Operation Epic Fury campaign is being rebranded and given a new look. However, Lebanon is not being spared by Tel Aviv.
Trump needs help navigating his self-made doomsday. Pakistan, a US client state with no diplomatic relations with Israel, is the latest intermediary in this multi-cornered war. How effective Islamabad can be in this complex conflict remains to be seen.
We must expect this West Asia crisis to end badly for Israel, but the economies of other nations will also suffer.
This stands as an important example of how reckless behaviour by an unhinged leader can cause worldwide misery and chaos.
We can only hope and trust that sanity and peace will prevail.
