Lembah Pantai MP’s 2020 report card a model for others

The diligent MP’s constituency work has lived up to Benedict Lopez’s expectations.

Like at Christmas, I have received many new year greetings from friends and relatives in Malaysia and from abroad.

But the greeting that elevated my spirits, despite the coronavirus pandemic, was the 2020 report card from Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil, the elected representative for my area.

Fahmi has lived up to my expectations as a diligent MP with deep concern for his constituents. Despite the pandemic and lockdown, he has discharged his duties with zest and zeal, as shown in his report card.

I wonder how many other MPs and state assembly members have produced similar report cards and sent it to their constituents on the eve of 2021, as Fahmi did. Since being elected, he has been a model MP.

Keep up the good work, Fahmi!

He covered all five Nordic countries in the course of his work. A pragmatic optimist and now an Aliran member, he believes Malaysia can provide its people with the same benefits and privileges found in the Nordic countries - not a far-fetched dream but one that he hopes will be realised in his lifetime
