Celebrating Mother’s Day this 13 May is indeed of special significance to all Malaysians who stood up when it mattered most to ignite new hope, writes JD Lovrenciear.

Happy Mother’s Day to all Malaysian mothers.

As much of the world marks Mother’s Day today, 13 May, Malaysians have every reason to praise and thank our mothers.

Unlike the dreadful May 13 in 1969, today we as a nation of people are jubilant for the new freedom we have collectively brought to our beloved country.

Today, 13 May, is most symbolic in our nation’s history as it not only signals new hope but also offers greater hope as we celebrate Mother’s Day. And what better gift can we adorn on the shoulders of all Malaysian mothers than this wonderful start to a fair, clean and just Malaysia since 9 May 2018.

And on that note, let me express gratitude to Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, the loyal wife of our prime minister, for her grace in standing by her spouse as he stepped forward to redeem our nation when he could have spent his vintage years with her. Her magnanimous sacrifice helped to enable the nation to redeem its lost dignity. Who can deny she is a woman who continues to stand tall among us for her humble presence, honourable support, wisdom and dignified track record.

The contribution of Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail should also be recognised. It was she who carried the flag for Reformasi through the most trying of times and then spearheaded the party whose eye logo captured the imagination of many Malaysians almost two decades on.

Likewise, to all mothers in Malaysia, thank you for your prayers and the patriotic role you played in standing by us to usher in a new dawn of hope.

God bless all our nation’s mothers.

See clearly… they both looks so alike..like sisters…their happy smiles. These are indeed genuine faces of sincerity, happiness, kindness & humbleness portrayed by wives of 🇲🇾 high ranking officials.
For the past 9yrs…all I saw were those behind “masks”
🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾Keep these smiles..it brings happiness to lots of people🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
