It was disgraceful and shocking that an elected representative, Nor Omar, could utter a foul word in the august house of Parliament.
What are we teaching our innocent children? Is this what we call decorum? Is this permissible by all our religious teachings?
What should the punishment be so that society is educated and leaders reprimanded with holy fear placed in their hearts?
We must purge such mindsets from the country’s politicians. Such language is unacceptable – even with an apology. Otherwise, we are shamelessly undermining the sanctity of Parliament, and soon anyone and everyone can utter such profanities in schools, board rooms and homes and get away with a “sorry”.

There is no excuse for uttering such foul words in Parliament.
The media have a critical role to play by sending a loud message to our elected leaders. The citizens’ displeasure must be registered.
