For most of Monday, the country remained gripped in a flurry of uncertainty as the prime minister decided to stay at home and not report for work at Putrajaya.
Some official business came to a standstill. People were shocked. Caring citizens’ groups scrambled to get together and express the general, overwhelming consensus prevailing the length and breath of the nation.
All those leaders who were party to the ‘back-door government’ dinner last night must now account for their misdeeds to all those people who voted for unprecedented change in the 2018 general election. They were guilty of leading the nation into political turmoil, and the stock market is already taking a beating.
The prime minister (now interim PM) has a moral, national and political obligation to provide an explanation.
