his life was a Kaleido-
scope of Moment & Colour.
Filled with family clan
friends, music, literature
politics, wine & laughter . . .
He would often carp
about not having time
enough for his “mistress”– ART!
Yet, he has left enough
images & memories
to fill a National Gallery.

his leaf from the Tree
of Life, in Heaven, fell . . .
& Izerail, Angel of Souls,
descended to tell

to hug, embrace his daughter;
bid us, his friends, farewell
or, set his studio in order.

a shroud of smoke
floated in from the South
to blanket the sun, choke
our lungs, sting eyes to tear . . .
It was as if, dear Ismail,
the whole world had gone into mourning.
