I

Why do I feel so alone
in a crowd of many
Why did I smile, a wry
smile as I tumble
and fall
Yet, stood my ground
in the midst of
indifference

II

We moved into this
world with gusto
Yet, cascading walls
trespass our
pathways
So, we levelled them
into smithereens to
pace our destiny

III

I see …. arrogance
I see arrogance
… in street corners
I see arrogance
… in harrowing
corridors of
governance
Flashing obtuse
powers and fleecing
nation’s wealth
Denying dues …
laced with roaring
sermons of
fractured
promises

IV

Some may say … we
are dreamers
reaching out at the
impossibles
Yet … we trudge on
Untangling the web
of utter loneliness,
emptiness,
alienation and
destitution
Ever willing to nurture
the quintessence of
love, truth, justice
and systemic
equity

V

So, we dare to be
different and
enjoined defiant
resistance
Creating gateways
and bridging the
stepping stones
of past comrades
Vying moments of
revolutionary tidings
And dismantling
robotised cultures of
exploitation and
subservience

VI

‘Rome was not built in
a day’
And who says that
this struggle is easy
or a celebrative tea
party
We acquire
experiences and
wisdom
Despite the onslaught of
betrayals, ultra
bondage and
rampant
legitimisation of
torture
Lodged openly and in
shadowy brick walls
laced with barbed
razor-blade wires
The agenda to drown
the very essence of
the soul’s moral
compass
The resilient bastion
of universal suffrage,
conscience,
consciousness
and
conscientisation

VII

Some may say this
struggle is wishful
thinking
Yet, we are blessed
with inherent powers
to trip militarised
giants
So, do not be
distracted or be
disheartened
By woes of demented
minds piously
wailing by their own
grave sites
Awaiting the coming
of some lurking
superheroes
To save them from
their pathetic
lamentations

VIII

So, this struggle for
freedom upholds the
universal and
primordial
consciousness
Sparking smouldering
ambers of unity into
crescendos of fiery
revolutionary
conclusion

IX

We don’t care… if we
get trampled upon
And we don’t care if
nobody ever knows
our names
And that’s the spiritual
Calling within our
being
Nurturing stepping
stones of enlightened
path of our past
comrades
Ushering momentous
movements to
denounce elusive
decadent systems
