Amazing, isn’t it? A vessel we commandeer for our entire lives; master of all its thoughts, actions and deeds. Yet we have no choice in selecting this vessel. It seems random, the luck of the draw.
We’re talking about each of us who exists in this world, and if we pay enough attention, it is apparent this is true for every living entity on planet Earth.
Having said what should be obvious after centuries of ‘civilised’ human beings walking the Earth and the benefit of thousands of years of history – some recorded and much fossilised and unearthed – we should conceivably have reached a point where we no longer function as random vessels.
We should have by now achieved vessel singularity, akin to a hive mind, where the greater good of humanity is paramount in our actions and deeds. This would encompass a borderless world where the basic needs of every living vessel are met, irrespective of random birthing into circumstances of geographical location, class, status, race, religion or creed.

We should all realise we were born into each of our particular circumstances by accident of birth, theological views notwithstanding.
Is this a utopian ideal? Far from it. The Earth has enough resources to feed everyone, but we need to adjust our food production methods for long-term sustainability.
It is simply greed and extreme capitalism that prevent resources from meeting needs. The Nobel Prizes are given for various fields, including economics, with the goal of benefiting humanity the most.
Any living vessel would think the greatest benefit of all would be not to starve – what more human beings, whose rationality is presumably of a higher order than other living vessels with whom we share planet Earth.
Why haven’t the vessels which host the greatest minds on the planet trained their focus on this one altruistic purpose? Whether elected or not, governments are supposed to prioritise serving their people. At the very least, governments should not allow the people to starve to death or remain below the poverty line for successive generations.
Unfortunately, we have not focused on working together to achieve these goals and stem our inevitable slide to planetary disaster.
The reason for the blurred vision and lack of focus is greed, the inexhaustible drive to possess more than our needs. This involves manipulating vulnerable people by exploiting their beliefs, fears and sense of siege.
So power brokers use any means necessary to ensure they keep benefiting from global instability, wars and geopolitical manipulation. Just look around wherever you are and see the truth from your own perspective.
The living vessel thus withers with time, as the insatiable greed seems permanent.
So what is the answer? Just toddle along and hope for the best – or plan for an intervention before the clock runs out?
Today’s young people have access to a ton of information through the internet, especially with AI.
Perhaps this generation will adopt a hive mind approach, prioritising fairness and equality. Hopefully, this will be independent of the grooming through the usual means employed by vessels with vested interests, based on their insatiable lust for power and possessions.
Perhaps an evolutionary turn will tune all living vessels to one another for the better.
One thing is for sure. The planet is overcrowded and facing environmental changes due to increased consumption.
The pyramid leadership model has been a colossal disappointment worldwide. The ‘rotten fish-head syndrome’ – ineffective or compromised top leadership – is a serious problem that describes.
A total revamp of mindsets is sorely needed; the living human vessel needs to evolve in a blink of time to avoid catastrophe for all living vessels on our shared planet. For me, personally, hope springs eternal.
The body is but a vessel for the soul, a puppet which bends to the soul’s tyranny. And lo, the body is not eternal, for it must feed on the flesh of others, lest it return to the dust from whence it came. Therefore must the soul deceive, despise and murder men. – AJ Durai
