Today, many ordinary people in Malaysia – in cities and rural areas alike – are facing increasing hardship. The rising cost of living has outpaced wages.

Food, fuel, utilities, rent, education and healthcare are becoming unaffordable for many. Low-income households are struggling to survive, while the middle-income group are being pushed closer to financial insecurity.

Job uncertainty, unstable incomes and age discrimination have weakened economic confidence. Young people face limited opportunities, while senior workers fear being left behind.

Home ownership is no longer a dream for many. It has become a distant hope.

The country’s public healthcare system is under strain. Education has become costly and overly exam-driven.

Bureaucracy remains slow, enforcement inconsistent, and public trust continues to erode due to corruption and perceived double standards.

But perhaps the most worrying concern is the silent crisis of mental health – stress, anxiety and burnout affecting families, workers, students and the older people.

These are not political complaints. They are the real daily struggles of ordinary people.

A progressive nation must be measured not by slogans, but by how it protects the vulnerable, including older people, and the next generation.

It is time for policies with compassion, governance with integrity, and leadership that listens.

Only through unity, fairness and accountability can Malaysia move forward – leaving no one behind.
