Sorry! “I apologise…” The consummate politician, former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad timed his apology to perfection – at the end of his keynote address at the first general assembly of Bersatu, the party he now leads, in front of a packed hall.
Rather than referring to any specific episode, the apology might have been a bit general and all-encompassing… but then, there was much to be sorry for and it could have taken all day! (see the video below for the apology.)

Saying sorry is one thing. True.., coming from you is really great.
But giving meaning to it is another thing.
What exactly are you sorry for? Why are you sorry for it/them? What have you realized for being sorry now? And most importantly, what are you going to do to rectify those things to show that you are well and truly sorry? You still have the power to influence the direction of this beloved nation.
It is time to move on.Dr Mahathir speaks from a different platform that he was. Human beings cannot be measured from a black and white approach. This is where human imperfection comes to play. The significant part is, he speaks from the tone of the oppressed ,and some those coming out are what reformist have been espousing for a long time. The positive part of Dr Mahathir is his firm leadership on issues like safeguarding the independence of Malaysia,and opposing the hudud,besides courageous in the face of royal criticism.I trust him on this issues more than Anwar,who has never been firm on this issues. The important think is keep reformation alive hold accountable for what he says.
