The Yang di-Pertuan Agong released a statement calling for MPs to set aside political disputes, so that Budget 2021 can be passed uninterrupted in Parliament. BFM speaks to constitutional lawyer Lim Wei Jiet to understand the weight of the Agong’s statement.

The constitutional monarch’s call is not a decree nor a command, according to this lawyer’s opinion.
MPs should vet Budget 2021 and make sure the backdoor PM is not using it to feed more leches and frogs.
Yes, if need be, MPs should withold support for Budget 2021 if it is not a rakyat centric one.
