Pekerja pembersihan dan keselamatan bangunan kerajaan, seperti sekolah & hospital, sedang merana dibawah sistem pengupahan kontrak.

Dahulu, sebelum khidmat ini diswastakan, mereka menikmati kenaikkan gaji tahunan, cuti tahunan, cuti sakit, saraan pencen dan jaminan kerja.

Malangnya, hak-hak tersebut hilang dibawah pengupahan kontrak, yang mengikat gaji mereka ditaraf gaji minimum walaupun mereka sudah bekerja di premis yang sama selama berpuluh tahun.

Setiap tiga tahun, kontrak akan diperbaharui, meletakkan mereka ditaraf pekerja baru; malah ramai yang sering diberhentikan kerja di-akhir kontrak dan segala cuti yang dikumpul kembali ke jumlah asal.

Pekerja tuntut tiga perubahan:

  1. Hapus sistem kontrak
  2. Hapus budaya kroni
  3. Kurangkan pembaziran, cekapkan pentadbiran
