The long-awaited Anti Sexual Harassment Bill, which was first tabled in 2018, has finally been approved by the House of Representatives.
BFM speaks to women’s rights lawyer Honey Tan and University of Malaysia associate professor of gender studies Dr Shanthi Thambiah on the bill itself and how it’s changed over the years.
They then discuss the special tribunal that’s going to be set up to file claims against perpetrators and why it’s important to have representation.
