Hamas has announced that it has signed a deal with other Palestinian factions including rivals Fatah to work together for “national unity”.
Beijing which brokered the agreement said that the deal paves way for post-war governance in Gaza.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the deal lays the groundwork for an “interim national reconciliation government” to rule post-war Gaza. Wang Yi hosted senior Hamas official Musa Abu Marzuk, Fatah envoy Mahmud al-Aloul and emissaries from 12 other Palestinian groups.
The deal was signed after three days of intensive talks in Beijing between long-term rivals Hamas and Fatah, as well as 12 other Palestinian outfits.
