Recent news surrounding escape attempts from a detainment centre in Kedah has prompted NGO Amnesty International to call for a review of our policy on detaining certain undocumented migrants indefinitely.

BFM speaks to Amnesty International Malaysia executive director Katrina Jorene Maliamauv and Lilianne Fan, co-founder and international director of Geutanyoe Malaysia.

They look into the existing policy and the impact it’s had, before discussing alternative ways of caring for and managing refugees in the country.
