Digital resilience: Can Malaysia withstand a digital crisis?

Malaysia is increasingly becoming more digital, everything from banking and healthcare, to government services and logistics.

But much of the infrastructure supporting that digital economy extends beyond our borders. The recent conflict in Iran is a reminder that geopolitical shocks can disrupt systems, even half a world away.

So how much digital sovereignty do we need as a country? And can we remain connected to the global digital infrastructure without becoming dangerously dependent on it? Astro Awani’s Melisa Idris speaks with Dr Jun-E Tan, a senior research associate at Khazanah Research Institute, and Farlina Said, the director of the cyber and technology policy programme at Isis Malaysia.
