Globalisation has become a buzzword and is used to refer to the growing interdependence of the world’s economies, cultures, and populations.

More recently, globalisation’s fate has been undermined by recent developments.

To navigate these challenges, small countries like Malaysia have to take a position of non-alignment especially for its economic recovery from the Covid pandemic and its future.

To delve deeper into these issues, the Academy of Professors, Malaysia (APM) organised this lecture.

Speaker: Emeritus Professor Jomo Kwame Sundaram, honorary fellow, APM

Opening Remarks: Prof Mohd Saleh Jaafar, president, APM

Moderator: Prof Rosylin Mohd Yusof, chair of economy and social wellbeing, APM; dean, Islamic Business School, University Utara Malaysia

Discussants:

  • Emeritus Professor Jamal Othman, fellow, APM, honorary fellow, Institut Masa Depan Malaysia
  • Emeritus Professor Zakariah Abdul Rashid, former executive director, Malaysian Insitute of Economic Research
