Health director general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said recently hospitals in four states had surpassed their limits in treating Covid-19 patients, even as cases rise.

To examine the issue, BFM speaks to Dr Christopher Lee, an infectious diseases physician; Dr Kuljit Singh, president of the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM), and Dr Jeyakumar Devaraj, chairperson of the Socialist Party of Malaysia, PSM.

BFM looks at the issue of overcapacity by first understanding how this is playing out on the ground level. Then, it finds out how private hospitals can assist in this situation. Finally, it explores how else we can mobilise our resources.
