While many Malaysian universities are improving on some international rankings in recent years, many critics pointed out that the quality of our higher education continues to deteriorate due to an obsessive pursuit of world rankings and the absence of genuine efforts to raise our standards.

To transform the higher education sector, the Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025 incorporated various aspirations, including initiatives to involve various stakeholders in playing a more dynamic role.

Given the multifaceted challenges facing the higher education sector, is the current blueprint poised to transform the sector? What is the way forward to enhance the quality of our higher education and reform the sector?
