With the pandemic continuing to affect our daily lives, BFM looks at the role of the media and the challenges reporters have faced in the past year.

To explore this issue, BFM speaks with Gayathry Venkiteswaran, assistant professor of media and communications from the University of Nottingham Malaysia; Anubha Bhonsle, a journalist with @newsworthywithab; and Patrick Lee, a video journalist with AFP.

First, they look at how the media has had to adapt to the flood of information on Covid and discuss the role that social media plays in the dissemination of news. A journalist also shares what it has been like covering the pandemic on the ground.
