Most of us are aware of the recent Covid-19 outbreaks in prisons and detention centres, such as those in Sabah and Kedah, which have led to a spike in cases in those states. In light of that, BFM speaks to Salim Bashir, president of the Malaysian Bar, about overcrowding in prisons, how that can lead to Covid-19 outbreaks and what pre-emptive actions can be taken to prevent this from happening in other prisons and detention centres.
