On 18 December Ilham Tower, a building owned by the family of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin, was seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
According to news reports, the seizure was in response to Daim’s refusal to declare his and his family’s financial holdings to the MACC.
BFM talks to Dr Edmund Terence Gomez, a former professor in the political economy at the University of Malaya, about the background to this investigation.
